This hotel makes for a decent stay for while you're in Taipei. I was here for 10 days and mostly enjoyed my stay here. Location wise, it isn't too hard to get there from the international airport (Around 40 mins for me), Taipei main station is like a 10-20 mins walk from the hotel. A good amount of 7 Elevens and Family Marts nearby, also a very nice night market about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Staff were nice and demoted when they you need them, I want to give a HUGE thumbs up and thanks to the Raymond. He was excellent with his advice, helpful tips and recommendations, my stay at the hotel was a massive pleasure thanks to him. I wished I could thank him more, but if you do stay at this hotel, expect great things from this man and do ask him about Taipei and Taiwan as a whole. Breakfast was decent with a mixed between Western cuisines and Asian cuisine, I wished it had more variety but it was alright. The rooms....is one of my biggest cons for the hotel. I don't know if I got unlucky but my room was pretty old fashioned and could really use a refurb. The windows were blocked by plants which almost gave me no view at all, the wallpaper on the walls were peeling off in some areas and honestly the room looked unused for a long while. I must say though, the rooms are quite large, bathroom/shower area is wide and nice, so it has that going for it. Overall, I would recommend this hotel as a whole, just make sure you get a good room, even if you have to pay a bit more.

The staff are lovely and always helpful. Great facilities. The breakfast is very good with lots of choice. Free coffee 24/7! Rooms are spacious, clean and the beds are comfortable. Showers are large and hug power.

I was able to take the MRT (metro) to this hotel. There are a couple of City Suites hotels in Taipei, be sure that you know the full name of your hotel, when asking for directions. During my short ten minute walk, from the MRT station, I passed an area with local shops and eateries. I made a quick note to return there. The hotel is directly next door to a grocery store (cash only for tourists). You need to enter the hotel and walk up the stairs or go around the back to the elevators. Once at the lobby area, there’s seating and offerings of free coffee and tea. There’s also an outside area for smokers. My room was nice and the stone bath tub quite amazing. Leaving the hotel and walking fifteen minutes in the opposite direction (from my arrival) put me in a pretty high end area of town. The hotel is in the perfect location, close to the street food market, while local vendors are to the right and high end stores (fifteen minutes) to the left. There’s something for everyone!

Amazing stay!! The staff was phenomenal!! They made calls, translated, and accommodated very request. Highly recommend this hotel. Great accommodations, location is perfect for rail and taxi transport. Raymond, the concierge is absolute treasure. It was quite the nice surprise to receive a bottle of wine of wine and treats from the hotel for New Years Eve. I’d stay here again and highly recommend!!

Pluses: - location is good. 10 mins walk to Taipei main station, 20 mins walk to Ximen night market area; nanxi night market is just 3 mins walk. - Ok service; Minuses: - it is sooo old... humidity stains all over the wall... carpet with stains (who knows what is that....), smelly a bit... - Super slow wifi - had troubles with simple files sending and voice calls by Skype and wechat (video was impossible); - Breakfast is really bad... super basic and not tasty. There are many hotels much better in this area. Citizen M, Westgate, Garden hotel. This one need renovation asap....
